Legacy Village at Park Regency Shows Appreciation for First Responders on Anniversary of 9/11

Over 70 Colquitt County law enforcement officials, firefighters and EMTs attended a thank-you luncheon at the Moultrie, GA, assisted living and memory care facility, in honor of their service.

MOULTRIE, Ga. (September 21, 2015) – A “Thank You” banner and dozens of thank-you notes greeted Colquitt County’s first responders as they entered Legacy Village at Park Regency for a special luncheon in their honor last week.

Over 70 local paramedics, EMTs, firefighters, and law enforcement officials were treated to hamburgers, hotdogs and sides on Friday, the 14th anniversary of the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks on Washington and New York and the plane that crashed in Pennsylvania.

“What to all of us is a solemn anniversary, seemed like an appropriate opportunity for Legacy Village at Park Regency to say ‘thank you’ to our local first responders and to be reminded just how important their acts of service are to everyday life in Moultrie,” said Jennifer McLendon, executive director of Legacy Village at Park Regency.

“We are so appreciative of Moultrie’s first response team. They work tirelessly for this community, and this is one small way we can thank them for providing all of us with the best emergency medical services and protection in southwest Georgia, 24 hours a day, seven days a week. We are proud to call them our own,” McLendon said.

Residents and staff wrote thank-you notes and created a banner displayed at the event.

Kenneth Williams, a Legacy Village at Park Regency resident, was guest of honor. Williams served 28 years with the Colquitt County EMT and enjoyed reuniting with some of the men he served alongside in Moultrie.
