Legacy Village at Park Regency Celebrates National Assisted Living Week
MOULTRIE, Ga. (October 16, 2017) – Legacy Village at Park Regency, a premier senior living community serving the Colquitt County area, celebrated national assisted living week Sept. 11 to 15.
The week consisted of spoiling the Legacy Village at Park Regency residents with fun and stimulating activities. Each day of the week had its own theme.
On Monday, to kick of the week, the residents honored the National Alzheimer’s Association by wearing purple. “We always make it a point to support and honor the Alzheimer’s Association. Alzheimer’s and other forms of dementia are such disheartening diseases. We want to help support the association as they work towards finding a cure,” Lisa Bynum, life enrichment coordinator of Legacy Village at Park Regency, said.
The second day was team spirit day. The residents had a fun competition and each wore their favorite team colors. Wednesday was dedicated to ‘wearing wacky outfits and hairstyles.’ Thursday was cowboy day, and all the residents and staff dressed in Western-themed outfits.
On the last day of assisted living week, the residents got to choose an outfit to represent their favorite decade. “This was so fun for residents as it brought back great memories of when they were growing up. It was fun hearing real life stories from them about that time in their life,” Bynum said.
“We believe creating an atmosphere of unity and creativity is very vital in our community. We love seeing the residents smile, laugh and have a good time. This week was so fun for our residents and team members,” Jamey Rickard, executive director of Legacy Village at Park Regency, said.
